Hello, dear friends! We are the lively puppet family consisting of Spejbl, Hurvínek, Babinka, Mánička, and our talking dog Žeryk! Spejbl here, often bewildered but always full of heart, and my cheeky son Hurvínek keeps everyone on their toes with his playful antics. I, Babinka, bring wit and charm to our household adventures, while clever Mánička and Žeryk add to our daily dose of laughter. Together, we weave delightful tales that entertain both young and old, right from our beloved theatre in Prague. Join us for a journey full of comedy and joy, cherished by generations!

The most famous puppet theater character.

The first of the puppets, invented by Josef Skupa in 1920, was Spejbl – a retrograde teacher, barely able to keep up with things happening around him. Hurvinek is his son.

This puppet’s legs and hands are made from plastic. It is very good for beginners and children, because it is resistant against hits. Control mechanism is simple. Everybody can control such type of puppet almost right away without no experience.
