Wolf Wolfgang

I am a wooden puppet wolf named Wolfgang. Standing proud at a modest 20 centimeters tall, I had the polished gleam of fresh varnish and joints so well-crafted that even the slightest movement seemed lifelike. But despite my impeccable craftsmanship, I had a rather peculiar predicament.

I would like to be the positive hero of all theatrical performances!

Once upon a time, in a quaint little workshop tucked away in the heart of a bustling city, there lived a wooden puppet wolf named Wolfgang. Standing proud at a modest 20 centimeters tall, I had the polished gleam of fresh varnish and joints so well-crafted that even the slightest movement seemed lifelike. But despite my impeccable craftsmanship, I had a rather peculiar predicament.

You see, I am famed for my role in the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Yet, if you had the chance to sit down with me over a cup of herbal tea (for I am quite the connoisseur), I would tell you that I despise playing the villain. Contrary to popular belief, I am neither malicious nor carnivorous. I am, in truth, a misunderstood artist yearning for roles that showcase my true nature.

“Ah, the dreaded Red Riding Hood gig,” I would begin, shaking my finely carved head. “Every time I hear ‘All the better to eat you with,’ I shudder. I never liked that line. It’s so unlike me! I mean, look at me. Do I look like someone who enjoys scaring little girls and grandmothers? Absolutely not!”

My dream was to be cast in stories where I could let my real character shine—a wise, gentle, and slightly quirky wolf who loves nothing more than to help others and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

I even have aspirations beyond traditional fairy tales. I fancy a role in a whimsical adventure where I could team up with other misunderstood characters. “How about a story where I join forces with a misunderstood dragon and a reformed giant? We could solve mysteries and go on grand quests, proving that we’re not the scary creatures everyone thinks we are. We could call it ‘The Misfit Chronicles.’ Oh, the possibilities are endless!”

As I share my dreams, it is clear that I am more than just a wooden puppet crafted to play a single, typecast role. I am a multi-dimensional character, brimming with potential and waiting for the right story to come along.

And so, in that cozy workshop, I patiently await the day when a storyteller will see past my role as the Big Bad Wolf and cast me in a tale where I can truly shine. Until then, I continue to play my part in Little Red Riding Hood, all the while hoping for the moment I can finally say, “All the better to inspire you with, my dear!”
